One of the parts I love about the fall and winter seasons are all the traditions associated with them. Regardless of how major or minor these annual activities are, they still seem to just make the season, and while everyone has their own special traditions, I think there are a few things we can all pretty much agree on:
- Fall and early winter days can be perfect for little explorations, which is an opportune time to perfect your comfort:style ratio (necessary for these adventures) with a cozy turtleneck, and functional yet chic raincoat.
- Some mornings just call for a steaming cup of coffee (or tea), a chunky knit sweater, and a calming drive (the perfect chance to check out which neighbors have no chill and already put their Christmas lights up).
- At some point, you will most likely have to get dressed up, and if this faux leather dress with upper detailing isn’t the best take on a little black dress, I don’t know what is.
See; despite any specific traditions one may have, all can basically be put into one of the above categories. And ok, if this is going to be true to life, there should probably be a category for “uncomfortable encounters/running into people home for the holidays you didn’t want to see” but real talk: we usually look our worst when we run into people unexpectedly and that just isn’t fun so we don’t even need to talk about it, right?! (End of tangent).
What seasonal things do you look forward to each year?
