The Anywhere Outfit: Sweater, jeans, wedges, bag, earrings
No matter how much planning you do, there’s bound to be something that comes up unexpectedly this year. Enter “the anywhere outfit”: it’s good for a range of Christmas festivities, easily dressed up or dressed down, and basic enough where you can adapt it, using this as inspiration, to fit your specific event, weather, and style.
Movie nights: Pyjamas, sweater, hot chocolate, mug, slippers
Elf. The Grinch. It’s a Wonderful Life. Home Alone. Whatever your go-to Christmas classic is, these things are a given: you need to be comfy, you need to be cozy, and having a steaming cup of hot chocolate or tea doesn’t hurt either. Personally, I like a pair of silk pyjamas, or ‘Pyjamas en soie‘ if you’re shopping at Soie Plus. Matching pyjamas with your family is only optional, attempt at your own risk.
New Year’s Eve: Coat, nail polish, heels, dress
Classic little black dresses are always perfection, but this year, change it up with some gorgeous sequins that are just light enough to be considered a neutral. A sequined dress, neutral? Yes. With a statement dress, and an unexpected berry color on the nails, you only need to grab a coat (juxtapose the glitter of the sequins with a tougher military-style jacket). Also, make sure, to pair it up with some strappy heels, (you can find plenty of women’s heels online or elsewhere) and voila – New Year’s Eve outfit. Now, you are all set to swing your way into the crowd and do your swag, ladies!
Holiday Dinners: Sweater dress, necklace, lipstick, booties
Please, for the sake of your own sanity, don’t wear something tight or high waisted. Speaking from personal experience, you will regret your life decisions if you do this. No, I am not being dramatic. Be classy AND comfortable this year with a loose sweater dress, paired simply with low booties, a statement necklace, and of course, a bold lip. The food baby won’t show, you’ll look fabulous, and it’s a win win for everyone.
