I’m all about the little details of an outfit. Timeless looks styled with basic pieces are some of my favorites, and when going for this aesthetic, I find it’s the subtle additions that really make the outfit. Thus, the half tuck. The half tuck is a seemingly minor styling point, but one that can totally change up a look. Thankfully, mastering the half tuck only requires one thing: that you actually do it. Seriously, it’s that simple, and virtually impossible to do “wrong”. Need inspiration? Check it out.
One | Style the half tuck look with something other than skinny jeans, like a pair of flared pants or jeans; the front tuck will help balance out the proportions of the outfit.
Two | Use the half tuck method with a button up shirt. It’s kind of like a mullet (ok sounds weird but hear me out). It’s casual, but also has an air of sophistication. It’s business in the front, party in the back. Note to self: never again compare a styling tip to a mullet. But you get the idea.
Three | Use the half tuck with oversized pieces (like a cozy knit sweater) to add additional shape to a look.
Four | Basically, use the half tuck for and with anything. It is pretty much a guaranteed way to look put together, and allows you to combine pieces in unexpected ways. Cheers to that!
