After a week of beautiful weather, it’s official: I have all the summer feels. Everything I’m finding of note lately has been a nod to the upcoming season: classic pieces with fun new cuts, glowing skin, and funky prints.
High Neck Pieces
The high neck cut is showing up everywhere from swimsuits to dresses, and I can’t get enough of it. It’s flattering, interesting, and an easy way to change up some of your favorite summer looks. This high neck shift dress just screams “summer”. You could also look at wearing it with a strapless bra to complete the look.
Braids
Earlier this year, I talked about my interest (obsession?) with giant braids. Five months into the year, my braid kick is going strong. Currently, my go-to is either a wrap around french braid or some variation on a half up/half down braid. It’s perfect for getting hair out of your face (and off your neck because to be honest that is the worst in the summer) while still looking oh so chic.
Dickinson’s Witch Hazel Toner
First, let me put this out there: I’m no beauty guru, and this blog is not going to become a beauty blog (lipstick inspiration doesn’t count, it’s totally an accessory amiright?!) But that’s not the point. The point is, this toner is so amazing that even I, a regular skincare peasant who is no authority on beauty products of any kind, can tell that it’s amazing. And it’s five dollars. This is the type of quality information you share with your friends (that’s you guys) whether you’re a beauty guru or not! I really do need to start taking care of my skin though. I never knew the importance of learning about your skin type but after speaking to a dermatologist, it’s super important. Take care of your skin guys!
Free People: May
If we’re talking about summer feels, it would be wrong not to mention Free People’s May catalog. All I have to say is, they nailed it.
Pink & Green
Summer seems like the appropriate season to just go for it with prints and textures and colors. I’m undecided on how this would realistically play out on an outfit, but the idea of incorporating pink and green together is something I can’t stop thinking about. It has a very “vintage summer resort” vibe to it.
How about you, what style bits + pieces have been on your radar lately?
