After spending the last three weeks absent from this space, it seemed like it was about time to pop back in for a moment. Saying yes to new adventures this summer has meant saying no to blogging (clearly, right?!), and I think it’s been a good thing. I’ve had this blog for over seven years, and am really taking the time now to reflect on what it is I want to be creating and sharing moving forward. I had an epic long post typed out on this subject, but decided thatΒ all the feelsΒ are for a different timeΒ (note to self: don’t type up post drafts when you’re feeling dramatic).

Currently, I’m focusing on creating simply for the sake of creating, not for numbers or people or my own ego. Today’s post is brought to you by my most recent foray into this process. I’m literally just going with it, you guys! Definitely all about the basics this August, and you can’t get any more classic than crisp whites and your favorites jeans.

    living life is absolutely the best. as for the blog, i believe blog is always personal so you should do it and write about what you like, in the way you like, when you feel about it and so on. no pressure needed. and there is not a right time to start doing it. just do it. denim and white is such an everyday statement,it would NEVER go out of style!!

      Thank you so much for this sweet comment, Cate! I couldn’t agree more with you, although it can definitely be a learning process. It’s funny how everyone seems to understand there is no pressure, but it’s harder to convince ourselves of that! I’m working on just “going for it” when it comes to the blog, because like you said, there is never the perfect time.

    My favorite combo πŸ™‚ Adventures are definitely needed, especially in the summer! I can relate to wanting to create simply for the sake of creating, that is kind of what I’ve came back too recently and I must say I’m enjoying it much more! Hope you have a great weekend!

      Seriously, it’s such a simple, chic look it’s definitely my go-to as well! I’m so glad to hear you’re creating for the sake of creating too- I find it’s easy to get away from that (unfortunately) but like you said, it’s often much more enjoyable. Hope your week is going well, Shannon!

    Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one who creates melodramatic post drafts… I already have 8 embarrassingly sensitive drafts that I find it hard to just delete…

    Feeling you here! I have been so slacking this summer on blogging and I’m totally okay with it! There’s too much to do this summer, and even though I love my space, it’s nice to take a break once in a while.

It’s easy to convince myself the blogging community will move on if I step away for too long, but I think it’s just always going to be there, especially with the connections and friendships you make! And I guess that’s the beauty (or downside) of the good ol’ pacific northwest summers, ha. My jeans still get pretty decent use!
