There’s something about the change in weather and the shorter days that have me feeling ready for hibernation. Sadly, this is not technically a socially acceptable practice, so I’ll be sticking with cozy time by the fire and warm leather + knit combinations. It’s about as close as I can get. Seriously, though, with the darker days of November upon us, I notice my style (as it always does) edging more towards ripped denim, knit layers, and darker palettes. It’s no surprise, then, that my current fall / early winter inspiration features all three.
Because I constantly feel so influenced by the weather, this time of year I turn towards moody colors: blues and purple reds with just a hint of soft blush. It’s like I have to go full vampire for the fall. Dark colors? Yes. Edgier pieces? Yes. But really, does anything else say “fall/early winter” quite like a dark lip color? Yep, didn’t think so.
Though I’ve already begun curating my early winter inspiration, my goal for the rest of the year is to slow down. The holidays always seem to go by a little (ok, a lot) too fast, so I’m aiming to take each one as it comes. I want to really savor them. Inhale. Exhale. Here we go.
What inspirations are you loving this time of year?
