I’ve always been someone who is more drawn to classic basics when it comes to style. I mentioned last week in this post that what I’m loving about basics lately is the way that they can utilize subtle details to up the interest. Still classic, but with unexpected additions. Pieces that feature texture, proportion, or unique cut outs, among others, have especially caught my eye as I look for new ways to keep up-to date with my looks while at the same time staying true to what my personal style is.
The Favorites
The best part about the subtle details in the pieces above is that though they are simple, they are strong. Even something as unassuming as leather trim, like on the Madewell coat, will have the ability to make an impact. What it comes down to, really, is pieces that stick with my love of neutrals, basics, and minimal looks without getting stuck in the same ol’, same ol’. Curating these different items also make me realize that texture is something I want to start experimenting more with. It would be a way for me to branch out, in a sense, while still holding true to my style. Ok, and the takeaway? These details show everyday black tops transformed by cutouts and cool sleeves, and jeans made interesting by zippers and seams, and I’m seriously all about it.
