Happy Thursday! I swear, so far this year each week seems to go by faster than the last. It makes me think of Gretchen Rubin’s quote “The days are long but the years are short.” Don’t you just agree?! The quote serves as a good reminder to myself to focus on the present, and living with intention because DANG time flies by. I think that’s one reason why I enjoy my Grid series – it’s one simple way to collect and reflect on moments from the past month or so.
A Recap
I’d like to start off with a big PRAISE that the weather has started to warm up. I love the snow, but I hate being cold. You see my problem. After a couple of weeks of snow and ice and generally being uncomfortably chilly, the sun has started peaking out now + then. It’s. Awesome. It should be noted, though, that the Pacific Northwest definition of warming up is like, 45 degrees. It’s sad.
Probably one of the favorite pictures I’ve taken recently has been “C” from the Grid above. Trees and forests are really interesting to me (I wrote basically my entire senior graphic design thesis paper on different design elements in trees/nature LOL), and I continually am amazed that I have I get to live in a place like this. 50 shades of green, am I right?!
In other, less happy, news, I said goodbye to my first pair of Vans (check out my Instagram for the whole dramatic farewell). To my Vans: RIP, you will be loved forever. To you guys: Is it weird to dedicate a whole Instagram picture to my dead shoes? Maybe. But, if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll remember that I also had a farewell post to MY LICENSE PLATE. So…take that for what it’s worth.
A Final Note
And finally, I’ve been doing some extra thinking on the content of this blog. I’d love to hear from you what type of posts you like (and don’t like as much) on Simply KK. Right now I go for a comfortable mix of “lifestyle” and “fashion”, but am curious as to what your favorite content is on the blog. Do you prefer the fashion inspiration posts? Informative posts (like “5 Ways to Wear a Blanket Scarf“)? Lifestyle things? Let me know!
