Of course I had to come back with a mood board – nothing beats curating all of the visual fall 2017 inspiration into one cohesive piece. Have you guys been as enamored by the golden and copper colors this season as I have? I cannot get enough. The orange and yellow hues are classic fall, but I love the idea of pairing them with deeper navy blues – something a little more unexpected for fall. Perhaps in general, I’m just continually interested in the unexpected… because speaking of unexpected, this fall is going to be a trial run of me trying (more) new things.
Trying Something New
I came back from this summer wanting, among other things, to take up yoga and water coloring, both for the first time. If you knew me you would smirk because a) I can barely touch my toes, and tend more towards workouts that involve anything but flexibility and b) I’ve solidly convinced myself I should stay away from the fine arts because I wouldn’t be “good enough”. Thankfully, I realized both of those reasons were the dumbest ever reason I should step out and do them. So far, I’ve gone to a few yoga classes (and kind of…enjoy it?!) and dabbled in water colors that won’t be making an appearance on the blog (yet, because these first rounds are something else you guys, LOL).
Generally speaking, I’m looking forward to using fall to reorient myself not only to life at home but also back to style, design, the general vibes of the season, and overall health (I dislocated my patella in early June and after a summer of mountaineering…I’m still in rehab mode). Side note – everyone, please notice the lack of succulent pictures on this mood board. Confession: BOTH of my succulents died and I’m OVER it. Granted, I may have left them for three months without care but still…disappointing. I think for the fall season I’ll just stick with fake plants and leaves. They look much better and they’re much easier to maintain too! Looking after plants is just something I can’t do!
