As I mentioned briefly before, the past year was beautifully chaotic, probably best described as the hardest yet most rewarding year of my life. Post-grad is kind of weird like that.
Now, almost two weeks into 2016 (ok wait how did it happen so quickly), I am looking to declutter and simplify – and I can’t help but feel like the soft colors “Rose Quartz” and “Serenity” (colors of the year, thanks Pantone!) seem indicative of the mindfulness and simplicity (and calm, lots of calm) I hope to work on this year.
Honestly, mindfulness is so important to me. I was actually speaking to a friend of mine about this yesterday and she told me that there are a few meditation techniques that she wants to introduce me to so that we can work on our sense of mindfulness together.
My friend is a big believer in new-age medicine and has recently taken up crystal and gemstone therapies. Apparently, there is a lot of anecdotal evidence to suggest that crystals can enhance your wellbeing, so I am excited to learn more about what she might have in store for us.
I know that recently she has been using a yoni egg to improve her meditation practices so I wonder if I will need to invest in a yoni egg of my own? In case you were not already aware, a yoni egg is a specially designed crystal that can be used to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles.
Accordingly, yoni eggs are often used in conjunction with yoga. As you know, I love yoga so I am always keen to try anything that will enhance my yoga workouts. Watch this space!
Anyway, in short, I’m loving the idea of finding the unexpected in what seems routine, in both life and style, and can’t wait to see what adventures the year will hold. Best of wishes for 2016, friends!
